Most of my work is made through lost wax casting and fabrication. Over the last decade or so, I have started exploring engraving. I am about 300 hours into the 10,000 that it takes to become truly adept at something, and having the best time. My exploration of engraving and love tokens started when I found one that my grandmother had stored in a tin of buttons, and I was completely charmed. It was likely her grandmother's. Love tokens have a rich history, and I find that some of my favorites appear to have been done by folks without a lot of skill, but with a desire to have a go at it. This resulted in some strange and wonderful designs that will provide a lifetime of inspiration.
I wear a "mama" one that a friend gave me on a chain with another pendant, and I never take it off. They are great to layer with other pendants on a chain, or to wear by themselves.
Thank you for visiting, and sharing in my love token tangent.
